A southwest Sydney man on bail after allegedly calling in a fake bomb threat when he was kicked out of an inner city nightclub landed back in a police cell after allegedly filming his own court appearance.

Milan Vukojcic, 40, appeared at Liverpool Local Court on Thursday charged with using a recording device in court.

In NSW, it is strictly prohibited for any person to take photos, videos or audio recordings inside the courthouse without explicit approval from a judicial officer.

Police allege Vukojcic, while on bail for allegedly calling in a fake bomb threat, used a mobile phone to film inside the Downing Centre Local Court on April 7.

Vukojcic applied for bail on Thursday and is yet to enter a plea on the fresh charge.

On Thursday, Vukojcic’s Legal Aid lawyer Tia Marlo told the court her client was likely “impaired” at the time he allegedly began recording.

Ms Marlo said her client suffered from a severe anxiety disorder for which he is prescribed one valium tablet a day.

However on his way to court, Ms Marlo said Vukojcic became “increasingly anxious” and decided to take eight tablets ahead of his court appearance.

Ms Marlo said sheriffs at the Downing Centre Local Court noticed Vukojcic had three mobile phones in his possession and cautioned him against using them in court.

As part of Vukojcic’s bail conditions, he is not to possess more than two phones.

Ms Marlo said the breach was admitted, despite one of the phones not having a SIM card.

Court documents state Vukojcic was previously arrested on March 24 for allegedly making a bomb threat to Cargo Bar after being kicked out due to being intoxicated and disorderly.

He is due to return to court for those matters later this month.

Ms Marlo said despite the admitted breach, which he is not charged for, her client was still a good candidate for bail.

However, police opposed Vukojcic’s bail application saying his latest breach was a “mockery of the court” and was an example of his “utter disregard for authority”.

On Thursday, Magistrate Julie Zaki granted Vukojcic bail, adding that he must report daily to Liverpool Police Station instead of three times a week.

His matter will return to Downing Centre Local Court on April 24.

His other matters will return to Downing Centre Local Court on April 28.
