Liverpool: Man charged over hit and run on The Hume Highway that left another man critical

A man has been charged following an alleged hit and run in Sydney’s southwest that left a man critically injured.

A man has been charged following an alleged hit and run in Sydney’s southwest that left a man critically injured.

Officers were called to The Hume Highway, Liverpool, at 8.30pm on Monday following reports a man had been hit by a vehicle.

When Liverpool City Police arrived on the scene they found a 62-year-old man lying on the road.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

On Wednesday, crash investigators released images of a Mazda 3 and a silver utility.

Hours after the police appeal, a 19-year-old man handed himself into police at Macquarie Fields Police Station just after 3.40pm.

He was charged with fail to stop after impact cause grievous bodily harm and granted conditional bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court on May 29.
