This week’s crime wrap-up included an appeal for information after a man drove off with a woman’s car in Liverpool and the discovery of more than 300 cannabis plants in two suburbs.
LIVERPOOL
A Fairfield Heights man led police on a chase through a number of suburbs on Monday, causing four separate accidents and only coming to an end after police deployed a spike strip. Police spotted the white ute with false number plates driving down Milperra Rd, Milperra at about 1.30pm. Police tried to pull the driver over, but instead he led police on a low-speed pursuit through Liverpool, Casula, Moorebank, Wetherill Park and Edensor Park. In separate collisions, the ute hit three police vehicles and a parked car; no one was reportedly injured. Police deployed road spikes successfully and the ute eventually stopped outside Fairfield Hospital. The driver, a 25-year-old man from Fairfield Heights, was charged with nine offences. He presented to Liverpool Local Court.
HECKENBERG
More than 300 mature cannabis plants were found after Liverpool detectives executed two search warrants at Heckenberg and Elizabeth Hills on May 28 and 29. Police seized 313 plants and equipment used in the process of cultivation. There was nobody at the properties at the time.
LIVERPOOL
Police are appealing for information after a man drove off with a woman’s car in Liverpool. About 12.40pm on May 27, a woman was at a carpark on Pirie St and got out of her vehicle to look at a car space. As she returned to her car, a man got into the driver’s seat. The woman ran to her vehicle in an effort to stop the man, who pushed her backwards, closed the door and drove away. The silver-coloured RAV 4 with registration AGR10K was last seen driving on Speed St. The man was described as being of caucasian appearance. He was wearing a grey jumper and black beanie. MOOREBANK
A 20-year-old Chipping Norton man will face Liverpool Local Court this month after he was allegedly caught in possession of two replica pistols, a large amount of cannabis and other drugs alleged to be GHB, speed, ice and prescription medication. About 2.50pm on May 28, police observed a vehicle driving erratically. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver. Officers had cause to search the vehicle. The man was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station. He was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug, three counts of possess prohibited drug and two counts of possess unauthorised firearm. He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court and was remanded to appear at the same court on June 12.
LIVERPOOL
Police are appealing for information after a bottle shop attendant was punched in the mouth in Liverpool. About 7.45pm on May 28, a man described as having a dark complexion entered the store on Northumberland St and approached the store attendant before punching him in the mouth. The man then made demands for property from the store. The attendant refused to comply and the man ran from the store. He was wearing a black hoodie pulled up to cover his face and blue jeans.
CABRAMATTA
Two teenagers will receive a caution after they were allegedly caught stealing chocolate, chips and lollies from a Cabramatta store. The incidents occurred separately on May 29. A 13-year-old boy from Cabramatta and a 14-year-old boy from Mt Pritchard will receive a caution under the Young Offenders Act.
