The suspicious disappearance of a 30-year-old woman in Sydney’s southwest that has left police puzzled has a fresh twist with investigators searching a state forest almost six months after her last sighting.

Jessica Zrinski, was last seen in walking alone in the Bossley Park area about 10pm on 27 November last year.

Police were notified a week later when her family became worried after they lost contact with her.

State Crime Command’s homicide squad took over the investigation after suspecting foul play and formed Strike Force Keder to chase Ms Zrinski’s disappearance.

Fresh inquires revealed Zrinski was in the Greenfield Tavern carpark on Mimosa Rd at Greenfield Park about 10pm on Monday 28 November 2022, before leaving in a blue Holden Commodore station wagon 10 minutes later.

In April, investigators said they had tracked Jessica in the vehicle headed towards the Blue Mountains, but they could not “ascertain her movements beyond there”.

“Investigators have been told Jess is a friendly, approachable person who is known to seek lifts with people she didn’t necessarily know,” Homicide Squad commander Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty said in April.

Police can now confirm the same vehicle is believed to have travelled west on the M4 motorway and Great Western Highway towards the Blue Mountains.

Strike Force Keder investigators have now launched a three day search in the Hampton state forest – about 25km north of Jenolan – from today.

The search is expected to continue until Sunday and will involve officers from Polair, the dog unit, Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit and volunteers from the State Emergency Service and NSW Rural Fire Service.

Homicide Squad Commander, Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty, said police were committed to finding Jessica.

“We believe Jessica may have entered or visited the Hampton State Forest sometime after she was last seen entering the Holden Commodore station wagon in late November 2022,” Supt Doherty said.

“Our investigators are conducting this search to find some trace that Jessica may have been here and will leave no stone unturned in our quest to locate her.

“We strongly urge anyone who may know any further information on Jessica’s whereabouts to please come forward. We want to find her and provide her family with much-needed answers.”
