The father of the man allegedly behind the wheel of a devastating collision which saw a brother and sister killed in Sydney’s southwest has fronted court for the first time, accused of hindering the police investigation.

Kagadour Kokozian, 62, of Cartwright, appeared before Liverpool Local Court on Thursday on the charges of concealing a serious indictable offence and hindering a serious investigation. No pleas have been entered.

The charge relates to the crash which killed Alina Kauffman, 24, and her 15-year-old brother Ernesto. Ms Kauffman had picked up her younger brother from his first job at Kmart when their car was involved in a collision with a Mercedes 4WD allegedly travelling at high speed on September 1.

The court has previously heard the alleged driver Johnson Kokozian, whose licence was allegedly suspended, fled the scene in another vehicle after the collision without checking on the dying siblings.

He was seen later that night on social media video eating KFC chicken and chips and joking with a mate, before handing himself into police.
