An 18-year-old killed after being stabbed in the neck has been remembered as a “lovely boy” who was “loved by many”.

George Woods, 18, died in hospital over the weekend after he was stabbed at Woodward Cres, Miller just after 9pm on October 1.

Police officers found Mr Woods with serious wounds to his neck and performed CPR before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

George Woods’ father, also named George Woods, said his son was “true to the core, words can’t express what you mean to me” in a tribute posted online.

“To my beautiful son, my first born, you were my greatest friend, inspiration and achievement,” he said. “Please make sure you and mum run a muck together … I write this with tears in my eyes.”

The 18-year-old’s mother died in 2020.

Mr Woods said he was going to miss his teenage son “more than life itself, you were a real one”.

“I’m so sorry I couldn’t protect you in this dark time, I’m a broken man,” he said.

Mr Woods said he would let people know of any updates of the funeral arrangements.

“The love and support my son has had is beyond amazing,” he said.

On the night Mr Woods was stabbed, a 19-year-old man presented to the same hospital with stab wounds to his back. A NSW Police spokeswoman said the 19-year-old had since been discharged.

Investigations into the stabbing are continuing under Strike Force Tibble.
