Coronavirus NSW: Alert issued for Railway Hotel in Liverpool

A Liverpool pub is one of the latest venues affected by coronavirus after cases attended the locations while infectious.

Health authorities have issued an alert for shops, restaurants and hotels, including a Liverpool pub, after confirmed cases of COVID-19 visited those venues.

Anyone who attended the Railway Hotel in Liverpool on Friday, September 4 from 10pm to 11.30pm and Macquarie Shopping Centre on Saturday, September 5 from 2pm to 5pm is considered a casual contact and must monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if they develop.

They must remain in isolation until a negative test result is received.

NSW Health has also urged anyone who travelled on the T1/T9 North Shore Line on 7 September between 9.17am to 9.29am from Milson’s Point to St Leonards and T1/T9 North Shore Line on 7 September between 9.53am to 10.14am from St Leonard’s to Milsons Point to monitor for symptoms.

Alerts have also been issued for Albion Hotel, Parramatta Beer Garden and Pavilion, The Crocodile Farm Hotel, Ashfield and The New Shanghai Night restaurant, Ashfield.

Nine new cases of coronavirus were recorded in NSW in the last 24-hour reporting period, seven of which were linked to a known case or cluster.

One is a returned traveller in hotel quarantine and another from south eastern Sydney does not have an identified source at this point.

Five of the locally acquired cases — two healthcare workers, one patient and two household contacts of the patient — are linked to Concord Hospital.

The healthcare staff worked at the hospital while potentially infectious but were asymptomatic and wore personal protective equipment while caring for patients.

Twelve cases are now linked to Concord and Liverpool hospitals, including eight healthcare workers, and investigations into the source of the infections are ongoing.
