The winner of Liverpool’s best butcher competition can be revealed as Nando’s Meat Market, Fruit and Veg, Grocery and Tobacconist in Kemps Creek, just in time for Christmas.
It comes after the Liverpool community nominated their favourite butchers and it was put to a vote in our online poll.
The store is managed by Sandra Bacci and owned by her family. She told the Leader they felt honoured to be voted best in the business by their loyal customers.
“Dad was really happy, it’s good to know we’re serving the community and getting good feedback,” Ms Bacci said.
“It shows we’re doing the best we can and it’s nice to know they appreciate our service.
“The shop’s been around for 33 years and we sell all different types of meat. We’re known for making our own sausages, everything is cut for us, and customers can buy bulk to save a bit of money.”
Ms Bacci said the family business is like a one-stop shop for the whole community.
“Other than the meat we have a grocery section as well where we sell bulk potatoes and onions.
“A lot of people who come here for parties and family barbecues.”
She said her father first started the store “to be his own boss”.
“I’ve been working here since I was 16 and have learnt some great skills from my dad and working with some of our lovely local families.
“I think the key to a successful butcher business is customer service, we have regular customers here and people coming from all over including Lithgow and the northern beaches.”
