The Australian Turf Club will stage the biggest event it’s ever held at Warwick Farm Racecourse on Saturday, with nearly $4 million in prize money up for grabs.
ATC chief executive Jamie Barkley said it was a chance for locals to get “up close and personal” with some of Australia’s best thoroughbreds at the family-friendly event.
The Inglis Millennium Day will feature a $2 million Inglis Millennium event for two-year-old thoroughbreds and a $1 million Inglis Sprint for three-year-olds.
There will also be live music and free children’s entertainment, including jumping castles, a petting zoo, face painting, pony rides, airbrush tattoo artists and a colouring competition.
A Foodies and Farmers Market will showcase the offerings of local chefs and artisans including 2 Smokin Arabs, Gnocci Way, Halloumi Me, Norma’s Burger Bar and Damaskos Greek Souvlaki.
“Sydney racing is on the cusp of something very special,” Mr Barkley said.
“We’ve had record crowds at Randwick, Rosehill Gardens and Canterbury and so this an opportunity for Warwick Farm to step up and for the local people of Liverpool to really embrace Warwick Farm.”

The racecourse and its surrounds have enjoyed significant investment in recent times, with the ATC funding about $16 million worth of road improvements, including shared pathways, along Governor Macquarie Dr, as well as upgrades to the racecourse’s facilities.
“We’ve got further plans, so it’s not going to stop there,” Mr Barkley said, adding there were plans to create shared pathways and regenerate bushland in Coopers Paddock.
