Austral development Rohan’s Run will provide affordable new homes

A new $27 million development in Austral will pay tribute to the area’s farming heritage, with plans for 62 homes set on more than two hectares.

A new $27 million development at Austral will pay tribute to the area’s farming heritage, with plans for 62 homes set on more than two hectares.

Bluestone Developments NSW is behind the Rohan’s Run project, which pays homage to Austral’s rural history.

Located at Sixteenth Ave, the development was named after former landowners John Reoch Rohan and his family, who farmed the land for 82 years.

Rohan’s Run is 12 minutes away from the Western Sydney Airport.

Bluestone Developments sales and marketing group general manager John Castellano said the project aimed to be different from others in the burgeoning southwest.

“We obviously want to pay some respect to the owners and do something just a little bit different,” he said.

With a starting price of $349,000, lots will range in size from 303 sqm to 337 sqm.

Mr Castellano said the location of the development was ultimately what differentiated it from others; residents will be just 12 minutes away from the new Western Sydney Airport, with easy access to the M5 and M7 motorways, as well as Leppington railway station.

“Demand’s been strong. Obviously the market at the moment is somewhat quieter but I guess the attraction to this area is the infrastructure being built around Austral in anticipation of the airport.”

The first stage, comprising 12 lots, was released earlier this month.

Mr Castellano said the project was an affordable option at the heart of a growth corridor.
