AN ANONYMOUS death threat against a beloved pet pooch has horrified a family in Trafalgar St Annandale.
Tiger Balsmeyer, 11, discovered the handwritten red Texta note in his family’s letterbox last week on the way to school with the message: “Your dog is going to die.”
Mother Lynn-Maree Danzey said her son burst into tears and the whole family was in shock.
They can’t fathom why anyone would make such a threat against their friendly little two-year-old caboodle named Moki.
“It’s just come out of the blue, we are devastated,” Ms Danzey. “Why wouldn’t they come to the door and talk to us if there is a problem?”

The menacing letter also included a detailed black pen drawing of a dog with red blood coming out of its mouth, and the added message on the back: “Shut your dog up or a poisened (sic) bait over the gate will shut it up for ever.”
Ms Danzey said her little dog only occasionally sat out in the front porch of the inner-city terrace when she dropped her son off at school.
“Everyone loves Moki, she is very friendly,” Ms Danzey said.
“She doesn’t bark at people, only other passing dogs. She loves sitting there on her little cushion, in her little kingdom, watching the world.”
Now the furry dog has to be bundled up in the car for the short morning trip to school and the family are keeping a sharp eye on the front garden for fear of poisonous food.
“We’ve become paranoid,” Ms Danzey said. “It’s a very gutless thing to do.”
She said has spoken to other residents in the area and has been heartened by their support.
Police doorknocked the local street after the incident was reported on the morning of Wednesday, February 11, but have had no luck identifying the culprit.
Insp Grant Watson appealed for anyone with any information to ring Glebe Police on 9552 8099.
