A man has been accused of repeatedly “looking into houses, late at night”, allegedly targeting one address seven times and terrifying the three women inside.
Rockdale man Ricky James Welsh, 52, was excused from appearing at Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday, where he faces 17 charges including seven counts of aggravated enter dwelling with intent, one count of stalk/intimidate and one count of having face disguised with intent to cause indictable offence.
Welsh also faces seven back-up charges of peep-and-pry, along with one count of enter enclosed land without lawful excuse.
He is yet to enter any pleas.
The allegations are said to have taken place over a six week period in August and September 2024 at two separate residences in the inner west suburb of Stanmore.
According to court documents, Welsh is alleged to have attended a Trafalgar St address “without reasonable excuse” seven times between 11pm and 12am, with the intent to “peep and pry upon another person”.
The address was home to three women, all who were previously unknown to Welsh.
It is also alleged Welsh attended another home on Warwick St on August 18 at around 9.15pm for the same intended purpose.
Two of the women listed on court documents have apprehended personal violence orders against Welsh.
Welsh was arrested just after 12am on October 16 in Enmore, when court documents allege he “had his face blackened or disguised with the intent to commit an indictable offence”.
He will remain on bail and his matters will return to court on May 6.
