Life of cricketer Jono Cook in Big Bash League
Most holidays involve a pool, ski slopes, European trails or even just a chill out at the home of a friend or relative. But Jono Cook does something quite unusual with his time off work.

Other people laze on a beach, walk the Inca Trail, cruise the Med, drink Mai Tais in Hawaii or gin tonics in Barcelona.
But Jonathan Cook plays in the Big Bash League.
The 29-year-old Western Suburbs cricketer works full-time as an environmental planner with the NBN at North Sydney.
But over summer he takes a time out to join one of the most exciting sporting leagues in the country.
“It’s a little unusual because I’m not playing full-time like most of the others’’ Cook said
“It’s a strange dynamic to be full on with my own work and then for two months it’s full on with the cricket.
“But I just love it.

“The Big Bash period is my holiday, my time off work.
“Fortunately my employee is very accommodating.’’
The spin bowler was brought in to play for Sydney Thunder last season as a replacement for Usman Khawaja.
He was unveiled a week ago as the club’s latest signing with youngster Matthew Gilkes.
Sydney Thunder open their ninth KFC Big Bash League campaign against Brisbane Heat at the Gabba on December 17 with their first game in Sydney on January 2.
Cook has signed on for the season with other players named to date including Callum Ferguson, Jos Buttler, Ollie Davies, Matthew Gilkes and Khawaja.
Ferguson will captain Sydney Thunder in BBL/09.
