Queensland’s decision to close the border to Greater Sydney has caused chaos for Swifts and Giants players who are now rushing to cross into the sunshine state on Thursday for the start of the delayed Super Netball season.
Players were frantically packing to leave home more than a week earlier than expected as officials worked overtime to construct yet another new draw for the season with opening matches in Sydney due to start this weekend now shifted to Queensland.
Both the NSW Swifts and the Giants were due to host matches at their new Ken Roswall Arena home venue at Sydney Olympic Park thius weekend and next week.
Now the NSW teams will play each other at Nissan Arena in Brisbane this Sunday with the following fixtures to be finalised in the coming days.

NSW officials are still hopeful of hosting games in Sydney during the second half of the draw which has yet to be released.
