NSW Police charge 10 after seizing 6.5kg of MDMA, 2.1kg of cocaine, 730g of methylamphetamine, 1kg of ketamine

Police have charged 10 people and seized more than $500,000 worth of prohibited drugs as part of a months-long investigation across Sydney.

Following investigations, Strike Force Greatrex executed five search warrants at homes in Alexandria, Sydney, Botany, Auburn and Caringbah South on August 22, when six people were arrested and charged with more than 90 offences.

Police say they seized 6.5kg of MDMA, 2.1kg of cocaine, 730g of methylamphetamine and 1kg of ketamine, as well as Mercedes and Audi vehicles with a combined value of $170,000.

Officers estimate the street value of drugs seized during the warrants was more than $500,000.

Those arrested include a 38-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, who were taken into custody at a home on Ralph Street, Alexandria.

The man was charged with 60 offences, including supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, knowingly directing the activities of a criminal group and knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime.

Police will allege in court the man was supplying 1kg of ketamine, 230g of methylamphetamine and 370g of MDMA in exchange for $62,500 at the time of his arrest.

The woman, meanwhile, was charged with 18 offences, including taking part in large commercial quantity drug supply and participating in a criminal group.

A 22-year-old man was also arrested at a home on Bathurst Street, Sydney, and charged with six offences.

These included knowingly directing the activities of criminal group, supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug and knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.

A 61-year-old woman was arrested at a home on Bay Street, Botany, and charged with five proceeds of crime offences.

A 30-year-old man was arrested at North Strathfield and charged with three offences of supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, deal with property that is the proceeds of crime, and knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at a home on Jacaranda Road, Caringbah South, and charged with 11 offences including possessing an unauthorised pistol, supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug and dealing with property that is the proceeds of crime.

Following further inquiries on August 23, officers executed search warrants at a home on Palmgrove Road, Avalon Beach and an industrial building on Apollo Street, Warriewood.

Police say they seized about $90,000 worth of prohibited drugs, $25,000 worth of silver bullion and coins, and $22,500 cash.

This led to the arrest of a 34-year-old man, who was charged with 11 offences including supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime and dealing with property that is the proceeds of crime.

Four days later, on Tuesday, police executed three search warrants at homes in Pemulwuy, Wetherill Park and Smithfield, where $192,000 worth of drugs, including 4kg of MDMA and 260g of cocaine, was seized along with $34,400 cash.

Following this, a further three men were arrested and charged.

A number of those arrested are due to face court on Wednesday, while others will next appear at later dates.
