A young woman has sobbed in court after allegedly carrying three different types of drugs in her unreturned rental car before leading police on a high speed chase in Sydney’s inner west overnight.

The Newtown Local Court heard the driver, 21-year-old Natalie Jayde Simonovski, allegedly accelerated in her Corolla on Parramatta Rd, Stanmore when Inner West Police Command officers attempted to pull her over about 11pm Monday night.

Police allege she reached speeds of up to 130km/h while driving in a 60km/h zone during the chase.

Police accuse Simonovski of speeding toward the city before eventually stopping on Abercrombie St, Chippendale after hitting a kerb.

The court was told the Connells Point woman had a previous police pursuit on her criminal record from when she was a juvenile and was currently on District Court bail and parole at the time of her arrest.

Police allege Simonovski was supplying the drugs including cocaine, charging her with police pursuit at a dangerous speed, drive while disqualified, breaching bail and supplying drugs.

Her lawyer Cody Baxter had asked for bail on the basis that both her parents were caught up in the coronavirus pandemic.

“Without it they’d be very likely to be forced into homelessness,” Ms Baxter said.

Her mother, the court was told, is an airline worker who has recently lost her job and the family relies on Simonovski’s Centrelink payments to pay their bills.

A 22-year-old-man from Caringbah Tyler Morrish, a passenger in the car, fronted the Downing Centre District Court today charged with a re-determination of bail.

Simonovski broke down in tears, sobbing as she was denied bail by Magistrate Glenn Bartley.

Her matters have been adjourned to a later date.
