Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever is ready to paint Sydney Park red
A red army of Kate Bush fans are ready to descend on Sydney Park on Saturday for The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever.
The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever, a frenzy of red flash mob dancers recreating the music video for musician Kate Bush’s 1978 song Wuthering Height, will take place at Sydney Park on July 13.
Sydney event co-organiser Belinda Burton said people would gather in more than 30 major cities and windy moors in red frocks to dance freely and merrily en masse as part of the Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever.
She said this was an inclusive, flash mob, community dance event that inspired people of all genders and ages to dress from head to foot in red, and experience the whimsical joy that is the 1978 Kate Bush’s “Wuthering Heights”.
“Over 400 Kates and Cathys attended the 40th anniversary event last year and we’re expecting at least that number or more at this year’s Wuther,” she said.
“Everyone’s welcome, whether you know the dance or not — it’s the most ridiculous fun you can have dancing en masse in public with complete strangers.”
The volunteer- run event will also raise funds for the WLS NSW, an independent, not-for-profit who provide free, confidential legal advice and referrals to women in NSW.
The free event kicks off at 12pm on Saturday, July 13 at Sydney Park.
