The location of the seven stations along the Metro West have been revealed.
The line will run from Westmead to the CBD with stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock and the Bays Precinct.
The State Government will also look into the possibility of stations at both Rydalmere and Pyrmont.
Construction will begin next year and is expected to be completed by 2030.
On Monday morning the Metro West project team started informing affected property owners and tenants at the sites of the proposed stations.
A spokeswoman said the preference is always to reach a commercial agreement, with compulsory acquisition a last resort.
The proposed Westmead station will be located on the eastern side of Hawkesbury Road, south of the existing Westmead Station.
The station would have one entrance on Hawkesbury Rd.
Next along the line is Parramatta.
The proposed station would be on the block bounded by George, Macquarie, Church and Smith streets with an entrance on Horwood Place.
At Sydney Olympic Park the location is to the south of the existing Olympic Park Station.
The station would sit to the east of Olympic Boulevard with the main station entrances between Herb Elliot Ave and Figtree Drive, and off Dawn Fraser Ave.
Next is North Strathfield.

The proposed station would be adjacent to the existing North Strathfield Station. New metro platforms would sit alongside the existing station and entry to the station would be from a new entrance on Queen St.
At Burwood North the station would be located at the corner of Burwood and Parramatta roads, with entrances on both the north and south sides of Parramatta Road.
The Five Dock station is proposed to be located off Great North Road, between East
Street and then at the corner of Second Ave and Waterview Street.
The station entrance would be located at Fred Kelly Place off Great North Road.
The proposed Bays Station would be located between Glebe Island and White Bay Power Station with an entrance to the south of White Bay.
It would provide direct access to the proposed future Bays Waterfront Promenade, which would run north to south along White Bay.
The end of the line is the CBD. A new station will be built although the exact location is yet to be decided.
Minister for Transport Andrew Constance said the project team has been talking to communities about locations for many years.
“Western Sydney Metro will more than double the existing rail capacity between Greater Parramatta and the Sydney CBD and slash travel times between Parramatta and the Sydney CBD to around 20 minutes,” Mr Constance said.
“The Western Sydney Metro will fundamentally change how we get around our city for generations to come, connecting Greater Parramatta and the Sydney CBD with fast, safe and reliable metro rail,” Premier Gladys Berejiklian added.
