Marrickville: $129m Victoria Rd Danias project gets council approval
A prominent inner west developer eyeing up almost a quarter of a billion dollars worth of projects in a booming suburb is close to securing a project that would result in almost 300 units being built.

Inner West Council has recommended a huge project in the heart of Marrickville be approved, despite it receiving almost 100 submissions from local residents and stakeholders.
The move comes ahead of the Sydney City East Planning Panel, who will have the final say on the $129m development, handing down its decision on the proposal next month.
Developer Dina Danias is behind the 272-unit proposal, with the Danias family company eyeing up projects worth $250 million in Marrickville.
Last June, Danias Pty Ltd had its plan for a $50 million arts hub in the suburb approved after a lengthy delay.
The inner west timber business has a strong portfolio in Marrickville, with its latest vision for the corner of Victoria Rd and Faversham St part of its multistage development on the land which will see 880 units in total if approved.
Danias is the largest landholder on the Victoria Rd precinct has spearheaded a development boom in Marrickville since first flagging plans in 2017.
The majority of concerns from residents, council documents reveal, centre around parking and increased traffic.
The project was set to be debated at last night’s Inner West Council meeting but the lengthy agenda saw several items hold over until the next meeting.
The debate was supposed to be regarding whether or not council itself wished to file a submission as well as the 93 residents who had raised concerns about the mammoth project.
