A man will face court after allegedly using a mobile phone while driving drunk in a school zone in Sydney’s inner west on Tuesday.
A man will face court after allegedly using a mobile phone while driving drunk in a school zone in Sydney’s inner west on Tuesday.
Police were targeting speeding drivers on Johnson St at Annandale just before school was about to finish for the day when they saw the driver allegedly using his phone while travelling through the school zone.
A roadside breath test by officers from the Leichhardt Traffic and Highway Patrol Command revealed the 38-year-old man was more than three times the legal limit.

The breath test returned an alleged reading of 0.171 and further checks revealed the man was disqualified from driving until 2022.
The man, of Tempe, was charged with high range drink driving and for driving while disqualified.
He was also fined $448 and lost five demerit points for using a mobile phone in a school zone.
He was granted bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday, May 3.
