IF YOU are looking for the perfect romantic dessert to win the heart of your man or woman this Valentine’s Day, chocolate mousse is sure to work a treat.

Balmain author Virginie Pavan-Colombo has released a raunchy cookbook, A Little Bite of Happiness, which will make the reader think about food in ways never imagined.

The creative writing piece combined with classic French recipes, uses food as a metaphor to explore the human psyche, relationships and life in all its beauty and complexity.

Meet a lemon as a character in a story, a madeleine as folklore, journey through gardens of roses and get to know vanilla in a way you never expected.

It features a number of aphrodisiac foods proven to spark romance including crepes, crème chantilly, tarte aux pommes and love potion.

The French pastry chef said a guaranteed way to impress him or her effortlessly was with her popular lover’s chocolate mousse.

“It’s my number one dessert. It’s so easy and delicious,” Pavan-Colombo, 43, said.

“Get a man to eat that and you’ll see if you win his heart or not. It’s worked every time for me. At one point you wonder if he is after you or the chocolate mousse.”

The sweet-toothed recipe has just three ingredients — quality dark chocolate, eggs and salt.

“When I think of romance I think about chocolate.

With or without the woman or man, chocolate itself makes romance,” she said.

“Men love a lot of things, they just don’t admit it,” she said.

Pavan-Colombo says also surprise your loved one with French toast or crepes for breakfast with berries and melted chocolate.

“In France, we take the time to make food with love, enjoy it, and have no guilt,” she said.

“My book has over 20 years of my favourite authentic recipes, which are there to illustrate the stories.”

A Little Bite of Happiness is the first book Pavan-Colombo has released.
