A man who photographed a sleeping woman’s vagina was later found with a stash of drugs and weapons, including cocaine, ice, GHB, knuckle dusters, and a crossbow, when police raided his home.

Leichhardt man Peter Lionis, 45, faced Downing Centre Local Court sitting at John Maddison Tower on Wednesday after pleading guilty to sexually touching another person, recording an intimate image without consent, four counts of possessing a prohibited drug and five counts of drug supply.

Lionis also pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon, one count of conducting or assisting in drug premises, and 15 counts of failing to comply with a digital evidence access order.

Agreed facts tendered to the court state a woman discovered three images on Lionis’ phone, which he had taken of her vagina while she slept.

After reporting the photographs, police executed a search warrant of Lionis’ home where they were told he kept large amounts of drugs and cash.

Lionis was sentenced to a two year community corrections order.

During the search on October 14, police located various stashes of drugs including 2.41g of methamphetamine, 50 diazepam tablets, a water bottle of GHB, 11 small bags of cocaine and cannabis, along with ledgers, a money counting machine and $16,600 in cash, police facts state.

Along with the drugs, officers found two sets of knuckle dusters, an expandable baton and capsicum spray — which were both police branded — knives and a crossbow, the court heard.

After his arrest, Lionis refused multiple requests by police to access his personal devices, agreed facts state.

On Wednesday, the court heard Lionis had been supplying the drugs for his friends and associates, who were “like minded individuals”.

Magistrate Paul Blunt noted the drugs “appeared not to be for street supply”, rather they were “bought in bulk and shared around the group”, with the offending being at the lower end.

However, referring to the intimate image charge, Magistrate Blunt described the offending as “reprehensible”.

“While the victim was asleep you decided to disrobe her and take an intimate image. You took three, that behaviour is reprehensible. She wasn’t aware this was occurring,” he said

“You breached her privacy and embarrassed her by taking these pictures while she was unconscious.”

Magistrate Blunt noted Lionis was at a low risk of reoffending, with a limited criminal record.

Lionis was convicted and sentenced to a two year community corrections order and was ordered to pay $5800 in fines. He was also given 200 hours of community service work.
