Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a truck crash in Sydney’s inner west that killed a cyclist this afternoon.
The crash Investigation Unit is still on scene at Parramatta Rd near Leichhardt, with eastbound and westbound lanes both blocked off after a crime scene was established by police.
Emergency services were called to the incident about 1pm today after reports of a collision between a large truck and a bike.
Paramedics worked to save the man, but sadly he died at the scene.
The driver of the truck was not injured and has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Diversions are currently in place and police are advising residents to avoid the area if possible.
