Amazing feats of creative construction will be on show at the Inner West Brick Fair on Sunday.
Models from SydLUG (Sydney LEGO User Group) member’s private collections, including LEGO Masters Australia champion Henry Pinto, will be on show leaving no doubt the plastic brick is much more than a child’s play thing.
Pinto and fellow LEGO Master’s star Marielle Morales will be among the SydLUG volunteers to look out for at this year’s Brick Fair.
“The endless possibilities presented by the humble plastic brick has fascinated both children and adults alike and the recent TV show has helped captured our imagination of even more,” Croydon Public School P&C’s Natalee Robotham said.
The Croydon Public School fundraiser, the brainchild of school parent and SydLUG member Gary Priestley who saw the potential for a fun, educational fair, has gone from strength to strength in the past four years.
Ms Robotham said the creativity of the Brick Fair also helped shine a light on STEM skills.
“A children’s build competition encourages young builders to get in and have a go at creating their own masterpiece, and in the process develop both STEM and artistic skills in a creative manner,” she said.
The activities on the day include a free brick building play area, quick build competitions, jumping castle and face painting and food stalls.
