Kanye West times two takes on wife Kim Kardashian in rival murals as Sydney and Melbourne compete for global recognition
A GIANT mural of Kanye West making out with Kanye West is Sydney’s answer to Melbourne’s giant nude Kim Kardashian and takes the famous cities’ rivalry to a global level.
THE age-old rivalry between Sydney and Melbourne just went global with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian featuring in competing murals for the most notoriety.
An enormous mural of two Kanye Wests making out is fast becoming an attraction in Chippendale after a giant nude mural of his wife, the most famous of the Kardashian’s went viral last week.
After the nude painting of Kim Kardashian was plastered on the side of the building in Melbourne, a graffiti artist in Sydney decided to strut his stuff on the topic of the famous couple.
Scott Marsh’s artwork is in Teggs Lane in Chippendale in the inner west and onlookers say it captures Kanye’s self-regard beautifully.
Marsh said his fellow artist lushsux who was responsible for the Kardashian mural in Melbourne and another one in Chippendale, inspired him to take on the theme of the notorious husband and wife.
He said the response had been amazing with people contacting him from all over the world.
“I received an email from Kanye’s management instructing me to paint over the mural but I’m not worried.”
