Insta-pugs Norton, Mouse and Perry, who have more than 32K online followers, are among the Sydney Dog Lovers Show’s stars.
Pugs Norton, Mouse and Perry love putting on their little lifejackets and swimming in the water off Callan Park before grabbing a treat at Leichhardt’s Cafe Bones and heading off to their latest photo shoot - it is just another day in the life of this Insta-famous trio.
The Insta-pugs, who have more than 32K online followers, will star alongside some of the state’s most recognisable furry faces at the Sydney Dog Lovers Show’s Insta-pooch zone on August 3 and 4.
Norton, Mouse and Perry’s “mum”, Louise Donnelly, a tutor from Rodd Point, said her pugs loved to pose for the camera.
Cousins Norton and Mouse, 6, welcomed Perry, 2, into their Insta-family two years ago.
The pug trio has won hearts all over the world with genuine fan mail keeping their postie busy.
“Last year I got two Christmas cards and they got 60,” Ms Donnelly said.
“They often get fan mail and little presents.”
She said pugs by nature were very expressive and that was just one of the keys to what makes them so photogenic.
Another key to Insta-success, Ms Donnelly said, was having dogs that enjoyed being in front of the camera.
“They love to pose, they like to dress up and they enjoy having their photo taken,” she said.
Their favourite haunts include Libby’s Cafe for breakfast, Callan Park for a morning swim and Cafe Bones to catch up with friends.
Ms Donnelly, who has gathered a whole “online family” through the @nortonmousepugs Instagram page, said her number one tip for other pet-owners looking for Insta-fame for their furry friends was to have fun with it.
“Have fun, not just taking the photos but have fun engaging and meeting other people,’ she said.
”I was not trying to get lots of followers. But I found just by being on there and interacting with other people it just happened.
“People love when you comment on their posts, other people to see the posts and that is how you start making links and making friends, and friends that stay.”
She said fans would have to opportunity to meet Norton, Mouse and Perry at the Sydney Dogs Lovers Shows and to grab a quick cuddle and kiss.
“Dogs love to love,” she said.
Norton, Mouse and Perry will join more than 25 furry social media stars at the Insta-pooch zone.
Each dog will take turns to strut the red carpet, snap selfies with the crowd and take their place on the giant thrones.
