Shock footage shows vicious arsonists filming themselves lighting cars on fire outside a home in Sydney’s inner west.
The CCTV footage depicts a man filming another man lighting the cars on fire before fleeing the scene together.
Emergency services were called to Burnell St, Russel Lea around 2.30am on Thursday after receiving reports of two cars on fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire but the cars were destroyed and two more were damaged with hateful messages also left behind.
The occupants of two houses had to be evacuated as a precaution and nobody was injured.
Police established a crime scene and have began investigating the incident.
The fire is being treated as suspicious.
A concerned neighbour said she heard an explosion that “sounded like firecrackers”.
“There were flames coming out of the garage. It was massive,” she said.
Another neighbour said they were woken up by their dog barking and recalled seeing lots of cars coming and going from the property regularly.
