The beer pie, inspired by the rich and beer happy flavours, will be available at all 11 Harry’s Cafe de Wheels stores across Sydney from Monday until August 31.

The pie is made from Aussie top side beef that has been slowly braised with Young Henrys Motorcycle Oil beer and finished with a hint of mustard.

Expect a beefy happy flavour that will ignite anyone’s taste buds, Young Henrys co-founder Oscar McMahon said.

“Beer and pies, Harry and Henry … we’re pretty bloody stoked to be making a delicious wintry porter pie with the Sydney icon that is Harrys Cafe de Wheels,” he said.

New kids on Newtown’s King St, MaPo gelato and Tandem cocktail bar, are are running a cocktail gelato collaboration that heroes aquavit, Scandinavia’s answer to gin, until the end of August.

“There were numerous tastings and lots of running between shops as we tried to build something that we were all happy with,” Tandem owner Peter Lynn, who has produced a gelato cocktail called Spilt Milk, from MaPo owner Matteo Pochintesta’s house favourite gelatos.

It incorporates MaPo’s Fior di Latte milk gelato made from Barambah organics milk with earl grey-infused aquavit, ginger, Mac.

While Pochintesta is serving up a gelato inspired by Tandem’s signature Thrift Shop Cocktail that includes aquavit, orange and rosemary in a milk gelato.

MADAME TRUFFLE-HANDPICKED CELLAR DOOR, CHIPPENDALE

Love truffles? The Madame Truffles pop-up at Handpicked Cellar Door, Chippendale is offering a truffle pasta mixed in a flaming cheese wheel, topped with fresh shavings of truffle.

The flaming cheese wheel pasta with fresh truffle shavings ($35pp) is designed to be shared between two.

The pasta is cooked in a cheese wheel and flamed with Brandy in front of customers. Fresh truffles are shaved on top, with four different truffles to choose from– I highly recommend truffles from Tasmania with the Tasmanian pinot.
