As a result of the blast Ms Denise Lavell suffered serious burns to her face, hands, chest and legs and police previously alleged it had the “real potential to kill.”

Capo was arrested on August 17 after a special strike force was established to investigate the incident.

He faced Burwood Local Court on Monday where he pleaded not guilty to one count of placing an explosive in or near a building with the intent to cause harm and the magistrate ordered a brief to be served.

Court attendance notices allege Capo did “aid” in placing an explosive at the Canterbury home between 11.20pm and 11.35pm that night.

Capo, who is on bail, will return to the same court in November.

Last month, detectives from a special strike force raided homes across Sydney where eight men, aged between 17 and 20 were arrested. Capo was arrested less than a week after the initial raids.

Eight co-accused are currently before the courts.
