A “predatory” courier who was caught with a horrific hoard of nearly 30,000 items of child abuse material has been thrown behind bars.
Not even Zoran Necovski’s lawyer “could asked for anything other than full-time custody”, as the 58-year-old appeared in Wollongong Local Court to be sentenced for six counts of possessing child abuse material.
Magistrate Claire Girotto described Necovski‘s crimes as “callous and predatory” before sentencing him to a two-year prison sentence with a non-parole period of 14 months.
“Child abuse material can not come about without child abuse occurring somewhere in the world,” the magistrate said.
“Ever occasion child abuse is accessed it encourages more child abuse material to be purveyed.”
Necovski’s sickening crimes were unearthed in March this year when police raided his Keira St abode in Port Kembla and seized 17 devices including two portable hard drives, a computer hard drive, a laptop and a Samsung Galaxy J5 smartphone.
Police immediately eyeballed the child abuse material, however, when questioned about the vile files, Necovski humbugged that the “porn” he watches ”may appear to be children, but they are 18-years-old”.
Then police showed him a photo of an adult man sexually molesting an infant girl and all he could muster was “Mmmm”.
Necovski was shown three other files found on one of the hard drives, all depicting horrendous sexual acts being performed on children under eight, and he said “Disgusting”, ”Doesn’t ring a bell” and ”Sounds impossible”.
The former delivery man denied any knowledge of the child abuse material even though some of the items shared the same folders as images from his 50th birthday.
Investigators had the unenviable job of trawling through Necovski’s repulsive collection and approximated there were 29,850 child abuse items.
One of the folders on the computer hard drive was labelled “Young really sexy 12 year old f***** xxx” while on his phone, investigators found images of cartoon characters Bart and Lisa Simpson engaging in sexual acts.
Necovski will be eligible for parole on September 14, 2023.
