A new report has revealed the top streets for apartment sales in the Wollongong CBD throughout 2020 and 2021.
Colliers Real Estate‘s 2022 Wollongong Apartment Report pulled in data from CoreLogic which highlighted two of the city’s streets recorded over $80 million in sales through the two-year period.
Topping the list was Corrimal St with a bumper $89.6 million worth of apartments sold over the period, with Atchinson St - seven blocks west - coming in second with a total of $88.5 million in sales.
Colliers Real Estate Wollongong‘s managing director Simon Kersten indicates Atchinson St’s high ranking was “natural” given there has been three major developments on the street.
Atchinson St has also had the highest number of transactions with 132 apartments sold across the two years, which is a dozen more than Corrimal St.
Smith St came in at no.3 with a total volume of $76.2 million with the ranking surprising Mr Kersten because “there’s been very few new projects” on the east-west running street.
Crown St ($73 million) and Keira St ($68.1 million) round out the top five while Harbour St recorded the highest average sale price for apartments fetching $1.74 million.
Cliff Rd ($1.64 million) and Gipps St ($1 million) are the two other streets with seven-figure average apartment sale prices.
Of the 20 streets, there are two located on the west side of Wollongong Station and they include Gladstone Ave (17th) and Loftus St (20th).
