Two teenage girls have denied allegations they attacked a Bulli father on a night out for one of their 18th birthdays, after a series of disturbing Snapchat videos of the alleged incident surfaced online.

Best friends Casey Holmes and Polly Powell were charged over the alleged attack last year, after Holmes posted several 10-second clips to social media, laughing at the injuries they’d allegedly inflicted on 57-year-old Bulli man Brad Quirk.

Holmes, also of Bulli, was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray on October 1, just two days after the videos of the alleged assault went viral on Facebook, racking up more than 90,000 views in just a few days.

Powell, of Wombarra, was charged with affray and common assault some days later, with court documents revealing the alleged incident took place on her 18th birthday.

The girls’ case was briefly mentioned at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday, where a legal representative for the best friends entered pleas of not guilty to all four charges on their behalf.

In the videos posted online, Mr Quirk looks dazed and confused, with blood and bruises covering his face as he stumbled through Thirroul’s William Woodward Park.

During the video, a woman can be heard saying, “This is pretty random but I f***ed this c**t up because he was looking at me and …Polly, and it’s her 18th so …”

She then says “can I just take a photo of your face, look it’s bleeding, that’s from me”.

In court, police will allege Mr Quirk had been sitting on a bench in the park about 8.45pm on

September 28, when he was assaulted by Holmes and Powell.

In a later Snapchat video allegedly posted on Holmes account, she said she was against violence but “seriously I had to post this it was that funny”.

“He just got f**ked up,” she added.

The case will return to court in April.
