A Unanderra woman pleaded guilty to assaulting multiple people in the Wollongong CBD earlier this year.
Tammie Denise Peters, 45, appeared briefly in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday where she pleaded guilty to three counts of assault, larceny to a value of less than $2000 and destroying or damaging property.
The first assault occurred on Saturday, May 28 at around 5.30pm when the female victim and a friend went to Pierce Xpress on Burelli St.
They were going to the tattoo and piercing shop with a bouquet of flowers to give to the owners after its recent sale and when they stepped out onto the sidewalk the incident unfolded.
Peters nicked a flower out of the bouquet and when asked why she had done so she said “I can do whatever I want”.
Peters moved behind the victim and hooked a punch into her right cheek and nose.
Police were called immediately as Peters walked off towards the nearby Woolworths with officers finding her at around 6pm at the McCabe Park - located across the road from Pierce Xpress.
Peters appeared in Wollongong Local Court where she was granted bail on the proviso she didn‘t enter the city while intoxicated.
However, that lasted only a matter of days with the Unanderra woman turning her attention to the Indian Home Diner which is right next door to Pierce Xpress.
Shortly after 8pm on Wednesday, June 1, Peters entered the Burelli St curry house intoxicated and with $2.60 in her pocket while she demanded “I want this for free”.
When the waiter refused, Peters grabbed the cash register, yanking it from the counter and carrying it towards the door.
A female cook ran from the kitchen upon hearing the commotion and went to block the entrance.
After Peters failed to barge past, she threw the register on the ground before punching the cook in the neck and punching the waiter in the arm.
Peters walked out of the diner before the cook locked the front door and called the police, but in the meantime the irate woman was banging on the glass door and windows.
Once police arrived, they went to caution Peters who said “You can f*** off” before she was apprehended and taken to Wollongong Police Station.
Two empty bottles of sherry were found in her bag and she was given a three-hour “time out” before her rights were read to her.
Peters will be sentenced on Tuesday, June 21.
