NSW minister Gareth Ward escorted home by police after sleepwalking
Mr Ward, who has been in hospital twice this week after undergoing surgery, was found sleepwalking naked in Sydney on Wednesday night.

Kiama MP and NSW Families, Communities and Disability Minister Gareth Ward was twice escorted home by police overnight, after he was found sleepwalking naked in Sydney.
Prior to the incident, Mr Ward had been in hospital on two occasions this past week after undergoing surgery.
This afternoon, police confirmed just after 11.30pm on Wednesday, officers were called to an apartment block at Potts Point following reports an unknown man was attempting to open the front door of a unit.
“Officers from Kings Cross Police Area Command attended a short time later, locating a naked man standing in the doorway of another unit, and after determining that was his residence, escorted him inside,” police said in a statement.
“As the 38-year-old man appeared to be disoriented, assistance was requested from NSW Ambulance paramedics, however, he declined to be transported to hospital.”
Police were called to the unit block again about 12.30am this morning, following reports the same man was walking around the common areas of the building in his underpants.
Mr Ward issued a statement regarding the incident on Thursday afternoon, thanking police for their assistance.
“I was admitted to hospital for the second time in a week, and as a result, yesterday I was placed under general anaesthetic for a procedure,” he said.
“Last night I became disorientated while at home.
“I would like to thank emergency services for returning me to my residence safely.”
It’s understood Mr Ward is doing fine after the incident, and is back on the job today.
