A young truck driver has been flown to hospital in a critical condition after his vehicle rolled at Stanwell Park this afternoon.
It’s understood the 19-year-old man was driving a semi-trailer filled with tar down Lawrence Hargrave Drive around 2.15pm, when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll near Chellow Dene Drive.
The man was initially trapped in the vehicle but was cut out of the wreck by emergency service crews.
Paramedics stabilised the man on scene, treating him for injuries to his head, arm and leg.
A Toll Rescue chopper was called to Stanwell Park and the man, who is in a critical condition, was flown to St George Hospital.
Lawrence Hargrave Drive is currently closed in both directions will Roads and Maritime Services clean up the road.
Motorists are advised to use the M1 Princes Motorway instead and allow plenty of extra travel time.
