Man charged over spate of Kiama business break-ins
A Lake Heights man has been charged over a serious of business break-ins across the Kiama region.

A Lake Heights man has been charged over a spate of break and enters in the Kiana area.
Between Thursday 16 April 2020 and Saturday 6 June 2020, 13 businesses were broken into on Terralong Street and Manning Street, Kiama.
The incidents were reported to police and officers from Lake Illawarra Police District’s Anti-Theft Unit commenced an investigation.
Following extensive inquiries and a public appeal for information, police attended a home on Trevor Ave, Lake Heights, last Thursday, and attempted to speak with a 40-year-old man.
The man allegedly fled on foot, jumping neighbouring balconies to avoid apprehension.
Police executed a search warrant and located multiple items alleged to be the proceeds of several recent break and enters in the Kiama area.
Following further inquiries, police attended the same home yesterday and arrested the 40-year-old man.
The man was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with 12 counts of break and enter, steal from dwelling and dispose of stolen property.
He was refused bail and is due to face Wollongong Local Court today.
