Lake Heights: Manhunt underway after pregnant woman threatened with knife

Police are on the hunt for a man accused of threatening an expecting mum with a knife.

Police are on the hunt for a man who threatened a pregnant woman with a knife.

Shortly after 7pm last on March 18, a 27-year-old woman was walking along a cycleway near Wollamai Crescent, Lake Heights, when she was approached by an unknown man.

Police have been told the man threatened the woman with a knife before demanding her wallet.

The woman – who was not carrying a wallet – was not injured during the incident and the man fled the scene on foot.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District were notified and commenced inquiries.

As investigations continue, detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of caucasian appearance, aged between 40 and 50, about 170cm tall, with a medium build, and a short grey and black beard.
