Jaydon Beveridge: Illawarra basketball coach to fight child grooming charges
The son of former Illawarra Hawks coach Rob Beveridge has pleaded not guilty to several child grooming charges, following allegations he requested nude photos from girls as young as 14.

A young Wollongong basketball coach has denied allegations he groomed teenage girls he was coaching, pleading not guilty to four charges against him.
Jaydon Beveridge’s case was mentioned for the first time at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday, where his lawyer formally entered pleas of not guilty to three counts of child grooming and one count of inciting an act of indecency.
The 21-year-old, who is the son of former Hawks coach Rob Beveridge, was arrested last month following allegations he used social media app Snapchat to groom three girls between 2017 and 2020.
It will be alleged in court that Jaydon contacted three girls between the ages of 14 and 16 and requested they send him nude photos. It will be further alleged he supplied one of the girls with a bottle of vodka in January this year.
Following complaints to Basketball NSW, police were notified of the allegations and officers raided his home in June, seizing mobile phones and computers.
He was arrested some weeks later on July 9 and charged. He was granted police bail at the time, but must comply with strict conditions, including that he not speak to any underage person involved with the sport.
According to court documents, Beveridge has been banned from contacting any person under 18 from any basketball club in NSW. He was also ordered to stay more than 100 metres away from Beaton Park and the SnakePit at all times.
The Illawarra Basketball Association has confirmed Beveridge has resigned from his position following his arrest.
The matter will return to court in October.
