Joshua Marskell allegedly assaulted Illawarra union boss Arthur Rorris
A young man is in custody following an alleged attack on the head of the South Coast Labour Council at the organisation’s headquarters.

A man remains behind bars on remand after being charged with the assault of one of the Illawarra’s most prominent political figures.
Joshua Marskell, 21, is yet to enter a plea to a charge of aggravated assault with the intent to rob and or deprive a person of their liberty.
The matter was mentioned in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday with court documents revealing the alleged victim was Secretary of the South Coast Labour Council, Arthur Rorris.
Police allege the incident occurred at the SCLC office near Wollongong Station at about 9.45am on February 1, this year.
Marskell was denied bail and has been in custody ever since with an apprehended violence order in place to protect Mr Rorris.
The matter will return to Wollongong Local Court next month.
Mr Rorris, who ran as an independent for the seat of Wollongong in the 2015 state election, was contacted by NewsLocal, but declined to comment.
