Jason Flood: Motorcyclist disqualified until 2082 charged after high-speed pursuit

Police allegedly caught a Dubbo man flying through the Illawarra on a motorbike, with subsequent checks revealing he is to be without a licence until he is 106 years old. Read the details.

A Dubbo man who could be without his licence for the rest of his life was allegedly caught speeding a Suzuki motorcycle in the Illawarra on Tuesday evening.

Jason Flood didn’t apply for bail when the matter was mentioned in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday with the 46-year-old charged with a plethora of offences.

In total Flood is facing 10 fresh charges including instigating a police pursuit; driving recklessly/furiously; motor vehicle exceed speed by more than 45km/h; and driver or rider state false name or address.

Charges also include use unregistered motor vehicle; use uninsured motor vehicle; resist officer in the execution of their duty; use a motor vehicle displaying misleading number plate; drive motor vehicle during disqualification period; and destroy or damage property.

Police allege the number plate on the motorcycle was a clone, and that the correct registration expired in July 2020.

The alleged incident took place in Unanderra at around 10pm when police spotted Flood, who is wanted for four outstanding arrest warrants and is disqualified from riding until 2082, riding a black Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Flood is alleged to have ignored signals to pull over, with a pursuit ensuing before it was terminated after the motorcycle reached speeds of up to 160km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Police managed to locate the vehicle nearby on Kanahooka Rd, Kanahooka before finding Flood a short time later on Hallam Cl where he was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

Flood was escorted to Wollongong Police Station where he allegedly provided police with false information with subsequent checks revealing he had been disqualified from riding a motorcycle since 2001.

The four outstanding warrants were also executed for alleged drug supply, assault, stealing, property and traffic offences in the Dubbo and Parramatta areas.
