An Illawarra drug dealer caught out by the Australian Federal Police‘s Operation Ironside AN0M trap has pleaded guilty to wheeling and dealing nearly 10kg of marijuana.

Joshua Dendulk appeared in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday to enter guilty pleas to two counts of supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug.

The charges relate to 9.04kg of cannabis and 223g of methamphetamine.

Documents tendered in court stated Dendulk, who went by the username ‘1111’, was first monitored using the AN0M platform on April 29, 2021, to arrange a deal with ’Big Bat’ and ’Rusty’.

Dendulk discussed buying 4.6kg of weed and 226g of meth for a total price of $56,000, with GPS pinning the location of the deal on May 4, 2021, as Bernier Wy, Green Valley, in Sydney’s west.

Later that month, Dendulk was tracked messaging ‘Big Bat’ once more about getting his hands on some more weed.

“Miss you my brother ready to go another 10 green my brother,” Dendulk said.

The next day, ‘Big Bat’ replied “Morning my bro f**k I was thinking about you yesterday haha” before calling Dendulk his “beautiful brother”.

The GPS location of the messages linked up with Dendulk‘s address in Bellambi.

On May 31, 2021, ‘Rusty’ messaged Dendulk to meet him in Green Valley where the latter purchased 4.443kg of cannabis.

Police were monitoring a Toyota Hiace van which stopped outside an address on Bernier Wy just before midday on May 31, 2021.

A male got out of a Holden Commodore parked on the street and collected a white package from the van.

Police pulled the Commodore over, and the passenger told them he had 10 bags of cannabis picked up from a person named ‘Josh’.

At 2.35pm that day, Dendulk messaged ‘Big Bat’, telling him “Brother my bloke got punched on the way home”.

Dendulk was arrested and charged on December 13, 2021.

He will face Wollongong District Court in March where a date will be set for his sentencing.
