Temporary traffic changes around the University of Wollongong and TAFE NSW will be in place from MondayThree March to Friday 11 April 2025 , to minimise congestion for the start of the university year. The temporary traffic changes are as follows: If congestion is observed on Irvine Street the Western entry detour will be implemented, and traffic at Irvine Street will be diverted to the University Southern Access Entry (formally Western Access) route via Murphys Avenue and Robsons Road during peak periods. When this is in place Motorists accessing the M1 northbound ramp (towards Sydney) at Northfields Avenue during peak periods will be diverted via Murphys Avenue and Robsons Road. Eastbound traffic will be held temporarily at roundabouts to prioritise motorists entering the University. Bus access from University Avenue into Irvine Street will not be affected during diversions and outside peak periods traffic will continue to access the University via Irvine Street and Northfields Avenue. Traffic controllers will be on site to direct motorists.
