Today's maximum will be topped on Friday, but cooler conditions are expected on five of the next six days.

Showers are more likely on Friday when the Bureau of Meteorology forecasts a medium (40 per cent) chance of rain.

Experts suggest looking for shade and avoiding sun exposure around noon. General advice is to take all precautions such as using eye protection, sunscreen and covering up.

Winds will be south-southwest around 17 km/h in the morning shifting to southeast around 19 km/h in the afternoon.
