Police have launched an investigation after a man in his 30s was found dead on the loungeroom floor of a Warilla home with apparent stab wounds.
Police established a crime scene at Bradman Ave just before 9am this morning, after receiving reports a man’s body had been found at the home.
On Monday morning, police confirmed the man’s body was located by a 62-year-old man who lives at the home.
It’s understood he found the body, and ran to his neighbour’s home for help before contacting police.
“He said he woke up to find his mate was dead,” Lake Illawarra Police Inspector Dan Richardson said.
Police established a crime scene and set up Strike Force Nambir to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, which is being treated as suspicious.

The 62-year-old man was transported to Lake Illawarra Police Station earlier today where he assisted with inquiries before being released.
Several Bradman Ave residents told the Illawarra Star the man who lived in the house was very quiet and kept to himself.
“We don’t see him much at all,” one neighbour said. “We do see a young couple, a girl and a guy, probably in their early thirties coming and going often though.”
Police say the body of the deceased man is yet to be formally identified, and that no arrests have been made in relation to the death at this stage.
