A magistrate has delivered a nonplussed response to a habitual offender who branded him a “maggot”, a “c---sucker” and a “c--t” during an explosive, and unsuccessful, bail application.

Ronald Ivan Reid was charged with allegedly breaching an apprehended violence order against his mother in December last year as well as intimidating her.

The 27-year-old was on parole at the time of the alleged offending following a period behind bars for breaking into a home in Gwynneville and stealing property to a value of less than $60,000.

Wollongong Local Court heard from Reid‘s defence lawyer who indicated it wasn’t “the most serious of offences that come before the court”, however, Magistrate Michael Stoddard took exception given Reid was on parole.

“The number one rule when someone is on parole is not to commit further offending,” Mr Stoddard said when denying Reid bail, which triggered the man to launch the incensed diatribe.

“Sentence me now you dog,” Reid yelled before holding up a plastic bag containing pieces of paper.

“I have evidence about the conspiracy to murder.”

Corrective officers pulled Reid out of the dock and back to the cells as Mr Stoddard quipped “Thank you, what’s next?”.

The matter will return to court on Tuesday, January 17.
