Alex McPhie: Albion Park Snapchat predator sent 10yo nudes before blackmailing sister

A pervert pretended to be a 13-year-old boy to coerce a 10-year-old girl into sending him naked pictures on Snapchat, before trying to blackmail her sister. Warning: Graphic content

A Snapchat predator is awaiting his fate after coercing a 10-year-old girl to send him nudes before blackmailing her 11-year-old sister.

Police took 18 months to track down the predator, Alex McPhie, and once they did they uncovered a grotesque collection of child abuse material featuring girls as young as three.

McPhie, 26, remains on bail following guilty pleas to six offences including two counts of using a carriage service to transmit child abuse material, two counts of possessing child abuse material, using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material and possess child abuse material with the intention to breach.

Court documents revealed McPhie went by the username “Matty34” while masquerading as a 13-year-old boy when he added a 10-year-old girl on Snapchat during the penultimate evening of 2019.

“Wyd cutie,” McPhie said, before pressuring the minor to send him a photo.

“Cute I love your body as well cutie,” he probed, before asking about her underwear at which point she told McPhie she was 10.

“There are people who just want to use you for stuff,” the girl said after McPhie asked if he could see her underwear. “I don’t cutie, I like talking to you hehe you’re cute,” McPhie replied.

The girl sent a picture in her underwear which the court documents said “sexually aroused” McPhie who responded with a picture of his penis.

“Has anyone ever seen your private part,” McPhie delved deeper. “I’ve never seen one before that’s all … I wish I could.”

The girl was reluctant, but after further pressure from McPhie she sent him a picture of her vagina, but the harassment continued.

“I‘m sorry! Still don’t know what it looks like” and urged her to send another photo which she agreed to. “It looks perfect,” McPhie said. “I wish we were older so we could see them more … so we could be naughty together with our privates.”

The court documents said McPhie told the girl “you made my willy get all excited” before sending her a picture of himself from the waist down with an erect penis and asked if was the “first one she had seen” and “if she liked it”.

Later in the evening, the girl’s 11-year-old sister confronted McPhie on Snapchat and told him to leave her alone.

The older sister told McPhie to “delete her or block her” and when he asked why she said “cause ur a skanky old c***”.

“What will you do to make sure I don’t,” McPhie said. “Do you really want them (the photos of the 10-year-old girl) kept a secret … what are you wearing?”

The older sister refused to engage in this discussion with McPhie threatening to distribute her sister’s photos “around everywhere”.

“I‘m spreading your sisters nudes now that’s your fault,” he said. “You’ve made the choice enjoy your sister being a slut. Your choice.

“Nudes are sent to everyone on my account and my friends lol.”

The children told their mother about McPhie‘s menacing behaviour with the conversations reported to police on December 31, 2019.

The court documents said the police investigation used McPhie’s IP location and Snapchat history to link “Matty34” to his address, as well as that of his family and girlfriend.

Police executed a search warrant of his Albion Park abode where police seized two iPhones containing a stash of child abuse material including the photos sent from the 10-year-old victim.

There were a total of 34 items of child abuse material featuring an age range of three to 16-years-old.

One of the items was a screenshot conversation with a thumbnail of a pre-pubescent girl of approximately 10-years-old in her underpants with part of the conversation reading “is that the youngest u got”.

Police also discovered a large quantity of adult pornography and a screenshot of a NSW Police Q&A website dubbed “Child pornography over the internet” taken four months before her tormented the two sisters.

McPhie will appear in Wollongong District Court later this month where a date will be set for sentencing.
