Aiden Jack admitted to then falsifying spreadsheets to manipulate the earnings reports generated from the poker machines, keno and TAB to conceal his crimes, that took place on several occasions.

Club Jervis Bay noticed discrepancies in its books, and ordered an audit earlier this year.

Jack was discovered to have stolen $206,000 from the community club over multiple transactions between April 2018 and August 2019.

Jack’s lawyer told the court he has a diagnosed gambler disorder, and provide a document detailing the extent of his betting habits, including placing bets of three separate NFL clubs in one day.

The court heard Jack has attempted to begin repaying the money he took from Club Jervis Bay, and has been putting $100 away each week.

Magistrate Gabriel Fleming said Jack ‘grossly breached his position of trust’ and his crimes ‘took a high degree of planning.

“It’s an absolute disgrace to steal from a small organisation for gambling,” Magistrate Fleming said.
