HEROES live and work among us and Variety the Children’s Charity is determined to reveal their identity.
Sick kids in hospitals across the country have dubbed local small businesses owners their “super heroes” after they made generous donations to support the 2017 Variety Bash.
Local Variety Bash fundraiser Dani Rose said telling the stories of children and families fighting debilitating diseases is “more than enough inspiration for local businesses to get involved” and has been overwhelmed by the level of support each year.
“I get to meet these amazing kids and their families who are struggling with crippling disease or even just the remoteness of living in the middle of nowhere,” Ms Rose said.
“It is so it’s easy for me to keep inspired about the amazing work Variety does — but local businesses owners listen to our stories each year and continually get inspired enough to dig deep and allow us to continue to help Aussie families doing it real tough.”
Ms Rose said she wanted to show the community the people who have had their backs and reveal the “secret identities” of local superheroes.
Gary Mangan from the Bendigo Bank Galston branch and Louis Stanton from Stanton Building Consulting Services are two local business owners who have supported this year’s Variety Bash fundraising event.
“The reason I sponsor Variety couldn’t be any more simple, it is an incredible cause and what a great gift it is to support disadvantaged children,” Louis Stanton said.
“I have been sponsoring the variety bash for the past 5 years.
“I was moved by the stories that Variety have shared with me and have always been inspired by the way they support sick kids and their families.”

Mr Mangan said the Bendigo Bank Galston’s support of the Variety Bash dates back to 2011.
“In the past 11 years we have given $2,121,122.54 in donations back to our community,” Mr Mangan said.
“We are very big on supporting people in our community that are determined to make a difference, so the Variety Bash is a perfect fit for us.
“Our motto is, the more we grow, the more money we make, the more we give.”
