Julianne Lever’s gourmet foods business continues to grow from strength to strength.
Julianne’s Kitchen will represent NSW at the Fine Food Australia trade show in Melbourne next week, attended by more than 20,000 people from the food industry.
The award-winning Hornsby-based company makes pates, terrines and fruit pastes by hand, and was one of 12 businesses chosen by the Department of Industry to be included on their “Flavours of NSW” stand.
Lever, of Westleigh, said it was “a lovely accolade to be asked to be there” and exposure at the event would help connect her small business with distributors and customers.
“It’s very much a greater awareness of our brand and our product,” she said.
Lever opened her business after selling her Kirribilli restaurant Cloudstreet.
“We use the exact same recipe we used in the restaurant, we just put it in a container,” she said.
Julianne and her team of about eight hand make about 30,000 quince pastes a year and a few thousand pates a week.
Her company’s products are used by large companies including Sydney hotel Sheraton on the Park, the Sydney Cricket Ground and the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
They are also sold in about 30 Woolworths stores, including at Hornsby, Thornleigh, Dural and Cherrybrook, and at David Jones Foodhalls, and are also used in limited edition burgers at the nearby Burger Hounds in Wahroonga.
