A teenager who allegedly stabbed a man in the back before embarking on a Westfield shoplifting spree has faced court.

A teenager accused of stabbing a man in the back late at night in Sydney’s north shore before allegedly embarking on a shoplifting spree has appeared in court.

Jaydon Lombardi, 18, of Castle Hill, was arrested outside a Westfield shopping centre on Albert St, Hornsby about 12.40pm on Wednesday.

Police allege Lombardi stabbed a 35-year-old man in the back and arm about 10 hours earlier on a leafy suburban Wahroonga street.

Emergency services arrived at Edwards Rd, Wahroonga, following reports of an assault about 2.40am Wednesday.

On arrival, police officers found a 35-year-old man with stab wounds in his back and arm.

The man was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital and has since been released.

Police will further allege Lombardi embarked on a shoplifting spree around midday at Hornsby Westfield not long after he allegedly stabbed the victim.

Lombardi allegedly stole $527 worth of bluetooth headphones and speakers from JB Hi Fi between 10am and 12:45pm at Hornsby Westfield.

Police will further allege Lombardi pocketed a bottle of juice and a Wiltshire knife from Coles as well as a Tommy Hilfiger jumper, valued at $159, from David Jones.

Lombardi was later arrested outside the Westfield shopping centre on Albert St, Hornsby in relation to the alleged incident.

He was taken to Hornsby police station and charged with three counts of shoplifting and one count of stabbing a person with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He is yet to enter a plea to these charges.

Lombardi’s charges were mentioned at Hornsby Local Court today where he was represented by Michelle Karim and did not appear on videolink. The matter will return to court in June.
